°Other brands

The menstrual cups listed under list of brands are the most known and recognized. You may come across some other brands that I will comment on here:

Alicia Cup (from Australia)
Official website: thealicia.com.au
Download pdf: instructions leaflet / FAQ

Alicia International’s President & Founder Samantha Backman was inspired by the story of a young woman who had the courage to stand up and make a difference to women in need. The original Alicia cup is now available in 4 sizes and can still be purchased.

Since 2010, the LifeCell International company holds the right to the products to use it for menstrual blood cell research. Hygina is marketed by LifeCell International. LifeCell, which started operations in 2004, brought the revolutionary concept of umbilical cord stem cell banking to India. It is not only India’s first but largest private stem cell bank and stem cells solutions provider as well. They found the size of the originals too big for most indian women, in 2011 they designed a One size cup under the name Hygina.

Copita menstrual (from Chile)
Official website: copitamenstrual.cl

The website is only available in spanish. All I can gather is that this cup comes from Chile and is available in One size only. They are certified hypoallergenic (it doesn’t say if it’s silicone or not) and are FDA approved. The capacity is 35ml (I suppose to the holes of the cup). I assume it is only available within Chile. The shape is cone-like and it has no grip line. I have been requesting some more about this cup.

Mialuna
(from Chile)
Official website: mialuna.cl

The website is only available in spanish. They are certified 100% medical grade silione and are FDA approved.
The Mialuna is available in 2 sizes. You can compare those sizes with others on the compare cup table.

S-class (small) — For those with light flow, teenagers, or virgins.
Diameter is 41mm, length 47mm, the stem is 25mm,  the capacity is 25 ml.
M-class (large) — For those who have normal or heavy flow, or who have had a child, or have normal light flow. Diameter is 46mm, length is 52mm, the stem is 20mm, and the capacity is 30 ml.

You can see the packaging below. The cup comes in a natural cotton pouch. Mialuna has a copyright infrigment with Lunette. As you can see the design is pretty much exactly the same except the marking inside the cup. As a result Mialuna cannot be sold outside South America.

Thanks to Mialuna who were kind enough to send me a sample all the way from Chile. I haven’t been able to test them since they were pierced samples. I will make a video in the near future to show it a bit close up.
